Healthy snacks and delicious fresh food are cooked every day by our onsite chef using local and seasonal produce when we can.
Children experience new flavours, look forward to their favourite dishes and older children have opportunities to assist with meal preparation.

Every day at The Learning Hive, we encourage children to be inquisitive and imaginative in our wonderful environment. In doing so, they soon develop a real love of learning and a curious mind. We’ve been providing high-quality early years learning for over twenty years to families from our local community and beyond.
Our large converted Victorian home offers so much space for children to learn and grow during this important stage, from our rich indoor learning environments to our outdoor areas, filled with opportunities for adventure.
Our experienced team come with a wealth of early years learning insight. We know that every child is different with their own story to tell, so we make sure that your child learns in a way and at a pace that’s right for them.

Fantastic place and a fantastic team. When we visited it for the first time, I fell in love with it and wanted my little one to be a part of it.
The team is brilliant! Very good and easy communication with the parents. My child really likes it! He is so happy to go there.
We have 2 children who attend the nursery (one preschool and one in the baby room). Both our children are very happy coming into nursery every day!
They love all of the lovely caring staff that look after them and are always happy to see them in the morning. Our oldest child tells us about all of the things she has learned at nursery each day and talks about the fun activities she has taken part in. We couldn't be happier with the care and teaching our children to receive and the setting they are able to grow and learn in. We will be sad when our oldest leaves and goes to school in September as she has formed relationships with so many people here!
The Learning Hive Nursery is absolutely fantastic. From the top down, I have always been impressed by their professionalism and their attentive nature to the children.
The food they serve is interesting, nutritious and varied and the place is always clean. My children come home happy and tired every day, which is exactly what I like to see. The list goes on. I honestly cannot find any way to criticise the nursery as they seem to excel in every area. It will be a sad day that dawns when I no longer drop my kids off there because I've enjoyed every minute of using their services. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
The Learning Hive Nursery is not just a nursery but it has been such an exceptional place for my son to thrive in.
The staff are very friendly, approachable, professional and very motivated...my son has developed into such an independent boy for his age and I loved the fact that whatever we were working on at home once communicated to the nursery staff they supported the action and rewarded my son with encouragement. The Learning Hive Nursery School offers exceptional care and learning for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Babies
Our light and spacious baby room offers so many opportunities for sensory discovery and gentle play. Our team are well-prepared to help your baby learn and develop new skills, from walking to talking. You’ll have a collaborative partnership with your baby’s key person who plans unique care and learning opportunities that take into account their routine at home.
After a busy morning of exploring and learning, we make sure there’s time to recharge. We know how important naps are, and make sure that when they need it, children can sleep in one of our cots, pods or sleeping baskets.
Toddlers
As their story begins to take shape, growing toddlers learn to play alongside each other and become more aware of the world around them. Our experienced educators encourage language development too, starting with simple sounds and building to sentences.
Our covered outdoor area provides opportunities for outside learning, physical activity and play. Inside, children participate start to make independent choices by selecting from our range of toys and resources.
Our older toddlers explore a focus on literacy, numeracy, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. We’ll also work with you to help your child with toilet training, giving them lots of support and encouragement along the way.
Pre-school
With growing confidence and ability, we prepare our pre-school children for the learning journey ahead with a focus on phonics, numbers and social skills in our dedicated preschool unit housed in beautifully converted stables.
Children are taught with adult-led sessions and are encouraged to learn through play. Our pre-schoolers have access to a separate outdoor area too where they spend time exploring, being physically active and deepening their imagination.
Children spend their final year with us getting ready for primary school. By this time, they have made firm friendships and leave us as independent and confident learners, ready for the next chapter of their story.
Out Of School Clubs
Amidst all that learning, there’s plenty of time for play with games, creative activities and outdoor fun.
If children prefer some time away from the hustle and bustle, our quiet area is equipped with reading books and spaces to complete homework.
Whether it’s breakfast to start the day or a hearty meal after school, all of our nutritious food is freshly prepared daily.
