Nursery Managers
Deborah Thorne & Louise Hobson

Hi, my name is Deborah, I am the Nursery Manager at Children 1st Sheffield Nursery.

I have worked at Children 1st for 25 years, starting my journey as a Nursery Nurse in our Under 2’s units and then working up to Nursery Manager. I am extremely grateful and passionate about my role within our nursery, as I am able to guide and experience the growth of not only our team but also the children.

As a mum of two, I find my passions are shared between my work life and home life, as they revolve around the care and development of children. Being at Children 1st for 25 years, I have watched my children grow within the nursery, having attended Children 1st from 3 months old to their next chapter at school. I love Children 1st Sheffield because I feel we are not only a team, but a family. I see my team build relationships with colleagues and children, and use this to inspire, guide and care for them throughout their nursery time. I see children grow from the positive impact nursery life has to a child and can see how our nursery family have achieved this through hard work and aspiration.

I would be delighted to meet you and your family for a nursery tour and show you what makes Sheffield Children 1st such a special place.

Making a difference

Our Community

We believe in the power of kindness and the importance of giving back. We’re always looking for ways to support good causes and get involved in our community, helping to make a positive impact where it’s needed most.

Throughout the year, we’ll be organising a range of fun and meaningful fundraising activities, from bake sales and dress-up days to sponsored challenges and community events. It’s a great way for our children, families, and team to come together, have fun, and make a real difference.
