We are proud to be rated Outstanding by Ofsted which means we excel in the education and care of children.
Our local links mean children benefit from enriching experiences, whether celebrating harvest with older community members or taking trips to the library on our nursery bus.
Our outdoor areas spark imagination and excitement, where children can embark on pirate adventures, enjoy imaginative role-play in the farm shop and run free in our paddock.
I started my career in 1993 after gaining my NNEB qualification at Stoke on Trent College. Over the years, I have gained a great deal of experience working within the Early Years sector. I also hold a NVQ Level 4 in Nursery Management and have been our Nursery Manager since 2006.
Together, my team and I have a clear vision for the future in raising the standards for all children. I have high expectations of driving the team forward whilst leading the way and shaping the future. We have built good relationships with parents and the local community, where our friendly yet professional approach has always achieved success..
Every child is important and they should all receive the very best care and education available. I believe our passion and vision enable us to make a real difference in this wonderful Early Years setting, providing the highest quality care to help children reach their full potential. With a dedicated and hardworking team, we create the perfect environment for your child to thrive. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon.
Children enjoy engaging cookery sessions, exploring ingredients and developing skills through hands-on fun. They also become curious about where food comes from, with opportunities to learn about growing ingredients, fostering a love for food.
Our bespoke food menus cater to various dietary requirements, ensuring every child can enjoy nutritious meals. With a wide range of meal options, we provide a diverse and inclusive dining experience that encourages healthy eating and introduces new flavors.
Our onsite chef prepares nutritious, delicious meals using locally sourced ingredients where possible. We introduce children to a variety of flavors, sparking curiosity, encouraging healthy eating habits, and fostering an appreciation for good nutrition from an early age.
At Children 1st Acorns, we’re proud to be part of a caring and connected community. We’re supporting Pink Sisters and Misters, a local charity that provides support to people affected by cancer. The charity offers a warm and welcoming space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and access practical and emotional support during and after treatment, helping no one feel alone on their journey.
Throughout the year, we’ll be getting together for lots of fundraising activities, from bake sales and dress-up days, to sponsored challenges. Together we can make a difference to such an important cause and inspire our children to grow with kindness and generosity. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve as a community! Keep an eye out for updates on our events and how you can get involved in supporting Pink Sisters and Misters.
Amidst all that learning, there’s plenty of time for play with games, creative activities and outdoor fun.
If children prefer some time away from the hustle and bustle, our quiet area is equipped with reading books and spaces to complete homework.
Whether it’s breakfast to start the day or a hearty meal after school, all of our nutritious food is freshly prepared daily.
