What makes us special
Our home from home environment uses natural resources that engage children and ignite their curiosity and wonder.
Spaces to meet the needs of each age group, including additional areas for smaller group activities, and spaces to stimulate thoughts and language development.
Our preschool children eat healthy meals together in a warm and inviting dining room supporting their preparation for school.
We’ve taken inspiration from the pioneers of early learning and blended the Early Years Foundation Stage and our own Storal programmes.
Children reach their full potential at their own pace and in their own time.
Mealtimes at Willow Tree are a time for children to refuel, be sociable and learn about nutrition.
Healthy snacks and delicious fresh food are cooked in our open plan kitchen every day by our onsite chef using seasonal and local produce when we can. Children experience new flavours and look forward to favourite dishes while older children help in our kitchen.

Every day at Willow Tree we encourage children to be inquisitive and imaginative in our wonderful indoor and outdoor learning environments. In doing so, they soon develop a real love of learning and a curious mind. Our nursery has so much to offer children, from our adventurous outdoor spaces with a mud kitchen and reading nook to our wonderful sensory room.
Our experienced team members come with a wealth of early years learning insight. We know that every child is different with their own story to tell, so we make sure that your child learns in a way and at a pace that’s right for them.

The staff are friendly and very accommodating, my son comes home very happy and he tells me all about the exciting things he has been doing.
He has made some really good friends and I have also made some friends. Communication has been excellent and all kept informed with all important information. My little boy's confidence has grown so much, I can't thank the staff enough.
Friendly staff, room clean and tidy. The staff are amazing at helping children settle into new rooms when moving from a younger room to an older one.
I cannot fault the staff with keeping me up to date with how my child is doing throughout the day.
My son has attended since age one and is now three and a half. He has loved every class he has been in, forming a close bond with his key worker and the other staff in his room, who all have the children's best interests at heart.
My son has a nut allergy so it is very reassuring that the setting is nut and kiwi free. He has grown to love the cooked lunches that are provided and is proud to tell me when he has tried something new. It's handy to keep in touch with what activities they have done in the day via the EY Log, and I can also post in there about what we have been up to on days he is not in the nursery. This means his key worker can speak to him about what they know he has been doing. I would highly recommend this nursery for children of all ages. We love Willow Tree Nursery School!

These members of staff always support our family and make sure we are kept up to date with our child’s learning. They are a great asset to the nursery and seeing the way they are with the children and making lasting memories. You can tell they love what they do as much as the children love having them around. They deserve to be recognised for their hard work!

Offering high-quality care and learning, our nursery school provides tailored spaces for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Babies
Our baby rooms offer so many opportunities for sensory discovery and gentle play. Our trained team will help your baby learn and develop new skills, from walking to talking, while treasure baskets provide plenty of opportunities for exploring different colours, shapes, sizes and textures.
After a busy morning of playing learning, there’s time to recharge. We know how important naps are, and make sure that when they need it, children can sleep. We’ll also follow your baby’s home routine for feeding and sleeping.
Older babies enjoy our play gym and slide to help develop coordinated movement and our country kitchen and garden cottage offer lots of imaginative play. There are also daily story time and singing sessions with actions, music and props.
Toddlers
As their story begins to take shape, growing toddlers are given the time and space to be more independent, discover and learn. Children make friends, learn to play alongside each other and become more aware of the world around them. Our experienced educators encourage language development too, starting with simple sounds and building to sentences.
Toddlers spend time in small groups and continue to progress their learning through activities such as construction toys, dress-up, sand and water play and arts and crafts. And when tiredness takes over, our toddlers can rest or sleep in our cosy quiet area.
Preschool
With growing confidence and ability, we prepare our preschool children for the learning journey ahead with a focus on phonics, numbers and social skills.
Preschoolers explore our magical two-storey play loft, and board games, cookery and construction toys feature regularly to further develop social, problem solving and motor skills. Computers and educational software are also introduced to help them gain experience with technology. Music and story time take place every day and our quiet area allows children to curl up and lose themselves in a storybook.
Children spend their final year at Willow Tree getting ready for primary school. By this time, they have made firm friendships, and leave us as independent and confident learners, ready for the next chapter of their own story.
Out Of School Clubs
Amidst all that learning, there’s plenty of time for play with games, creative activities and outdoor fun.
If children prefer some time away from the hustle and bustle, our quiet area is equipped with reading books and spaces to complete homework.
Whether it’s breakfast to start the day or a hearty meal after school, all of our nutritious food is freshly prepared daily.
