Children will spend dedicated time in our spacious outdoor areas, connecting with nature through a variety of enriching outdoor experiences.
Our home from home environment uses natural resources that engage children and ignite their curiosity and wonder.
Children eat healthy meals together in a warm and inviting space.
Our hybrid approach to education allows children to learn and grow at an individual pace and in their own time.
Education continues in our wonderful outside spaces such as our Nissen Hut and main garden equipped with natural resources, sandpit, bark area and mud kitchen. Our sensory garden is a magical place for children to learn, exploring the scented flowers, balance beams and tyres.
Healthy snacks and delicious fresh food are cooked every day by our onsite chef using local and seasonal produce when we can. Children enjoy experiencing new flavours and look forward to their favourite dishes.
Our educators encourage children to learn about where all that delicious food comes from, spending time tending and growing cherries, apples, pears and strawberries in our outdoor sensory garden.
Every day at Forest Barn, we encourage children to be inquisitive and imaginative in our exceptional learning environment. In doing so, they soon develop confidence, a real love of learning and a curious mind. Outdoors, our nursery has so much to offer too, from our Nissen hut and sensory garden to our fruit patch and walks in the local woodland.
Our experienced team come with a wealth of early years learning insight. We know that every child is different with their own story to tell, so we make sure that your child learns in a way and at a pace that’s right for them.
Come and say hello – we’d love to meet you and your family.
I have noticed a massive development in our daughter since starting here. It is a lovely setting in an old farm with gorgeous surroundings, which is what drew us to it in the beginning. A decision that we have not regretted for a second. Fantastic!
They love all the staff and have so much fun. It's so nice to have somewhere that I can trust to look after my children while I go to work and not have to worry.
The staff are amazing. They are still able to maintain a personal touch with all the children. They have lovely meals cooked onsite for them. Plenty of outdoor play. I honestly could not recommend them enough. I'm confident that when my son has to start school he will be more than ready.
The staff are very supportive and attentive, with an individual approach to every child. They inspire creativity in children. Turnover is very low, which I'm very pleased with. Also, we are happy with the big outdoor area and walks to the fields. Great nursery!
Our educators use our cosy spaces to create opportunities for babies to deepen their understanding of the world around them with sensory discovery and gentle play. Our experienced team will teach your baby to learn and develop new skills, from standing to walking and talking.
As they grow, babies can explore their imagination in our creative play area and all our babies enjoy time and fresh air in our main garden. After a busy morning of exploring and learning, there’s time to recharge. We know how important naps are, and make sure that when they need it, children can sleep.
As their story begins to take shape, growing toddlers are given the time and space to be more independent, discover and learn. Children make friends, learn to play alongside each other and become more aware of the world around them. Our experienced educators encourage language development too, starting with simple sounds and building to sentences.
Toddlers enjoy exploring our large home corner as well as story and circle time and sensory activities. When children need some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle, our cosy wigwam allows them to curl up and immerse themselves in a story.
With growing confidence and ability, we prepare our preschool children for the learning journey ahead with a focus on phonics, numbers and social skills. They’ll also continue to learn through play and are introduced to Spanish.
Children spend their final year at Forest Barn getting ready for primary school. By this time, they have made firm friendships and leave us as independent, curious and confident learners, ready for the next chapter of their own story.
Amidst all that learning, there’s plenty of time for play with games, creative activities and outdoor fun.
If children prefer some time away from the hustle and bustle, our quiet area is equipped with reading books and spaces to complete homework.
Whether it’s breakfast to start the day or a hearty meal after school, all of our nutritious food is freshly prepared daily.
