We are the first unique yurt-based nursery in the UK where children have yurts as classrooms.
Our goal is to spark curiosity and creativity in children through play in the great outdoors, using the wonder of nature to enrich their imagination.
With the agricultural college at Sparsholt next door, children can visit the livestock and observe and sometimes handle all sorts of animals, from meerkats to a red panda, at the Animal Management Centre.
Our passionate educators ensure that children experience the joy and wonder of learning through nature and its changing seasons.
We’ve taken inspiration from the pioneers of early learning and blended the Early Years Foundation Stage framework with our own Storal programmes. Our hybrid approach allows children to reach their full potential at their own pace and in their own time.
Our healthy snacks and delicious fresh food are cooked every day by our onsite chef using seasonal and local produce when we can. Children experience new flavours and look forward to their favourite dishes while older children help in our kitchen.
Our nursery school is a very special place to learn and play. We’re the UK’s first yurt-based outdoor nursery school with our two-acre site surrounded by the fields and animals of Sparsholt College. Even though they spend so much of their time outside, our yurts provide a mellow and memorable space for children with their acoustics, sensory atmosphere and cosy sheep’s wool coverings in the winter.
Every day at Farley we encourage children to be curious and imaginative in our wonderful outdoor learning environment. In doing so, they soon develop a real love of learning and a curious mind.
Our experienced team come with a wealth of early years learning insight. We know that every child is different with their own story to tell, so we make sure that your child learns in a way and at a pace that’s right for them.
Seeing is believing at Farley Sparsholt so do come along and say hello. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our magical setting.
I’m so glad that my kids got to benefit from the outside space, the fresh air and the freedom that being a Farley Nursery School kid gave/gives them. Not to mention the visits to the farm, the home-cooked food, campfires, climbing, messy play, French lessons, dancing, theme days, I could go on and on. The nursery feels like family now and I don’t know how I’m going to cope when my youngest stops going!
When we first visited Farley Nursery School, Sparsholt, we knew this was the right nursery for our son and haven't looked back. Outdoor focused, fun, lively and engaging for the kids. I know when I drive off to work he has an action-packed day ahead, with carefully considered activities and learning opportunities. The staff are relaxed and approachable yet responsive. As someone who works in the NHS service where I know the importance of early years for child development and emotional wellbeing, I have always felt confident Farley Nursery contributes to creating a great start in life!
Highly qualified staff who really know and care about the children within a unique environment.
The handovers are detailed, and they make time to tell you about any special moments that happened in their day, and you feel like the key workers really enjoy their job and have such special bonds with all of the kids.
Offering so many opportunities for sensory discovery, Farley’s outdoor setting is incorporated in our play for this age group, helping babies learn and develop new skills, from walking to talking.
After a busy morning of exploring and learning, there’s time to recharge. We know how important naps are, and make sure that when they need it, they can.
As their story begins to take shape growing toddlers are given the time and space to be more independent, discover and learn. Children learn to play alongside each other and become more aware of the world around them. Our experienced educators encourage language development too, starting with simple sounds and building to sentences.
With growing confidence and ability, we prepare our pre-school children for the learning journey ahead with a focus on phonics, numbers and social skills. We’ll also work with you to help your child with toilet training, giving them lots of support and encouragement along the way.
Children spend their final year at Farley preparing for primary school. By this time, they are starting to form firm friendships and have experienced the outdoor learning environment in full throughout the year. With their voices heard in our very own council, they leave us as independent, curious and confident learners, ready for the next chapter of their own story.
Amidst all that learning, there’s plenty of time for play with games, creative activities and outdoor fun.
If children prefer some time away from the hustle and bustle, our quiet area is equipped with reading books and spaces to complete homework.
Whether it’s breakfast to start the day or a hearty meal after school, all of our nutritious food is freshly prepared daily.
